Ballet, adapted from Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve
The ballet BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, adapted from Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot by Villeneuve, brings to the audience an immortal story, translated into dance steps in an original and sensitive way by choreographer Valentin Stoica.
For 60 minutes, spectators of all ages are invited on a fantastic journey. On stage, the story of a brilliant young woman, full of personality, takes shape, who, through her richness of soul, manages to see beyond appearances and, thus, to unravel an old spell, meant to be a lesson to a young superficial and full of self prince.
“The novelty in approaching the story is its association with the Romanian fairy tale, where similar situations are encountered, and the real and the surreal plan merge, giving rise to a rich fantasy,” according to the show’s director.
