FIGARO STYLE, children’s adaptation of Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, is the latest premiere of Teatrului Muzical Ambasadorii
The story brings back in the spotlight Figaro, the humorous barber, loved by an entire city, who gives charm to the love story between the restless Count Almaviva and the charming Rosina. The girl is closely guarded by her guardian, the old and miserly Dr. Bartolo, who intends to marry her only to take possession of his fortune. But Rosina loves Almaviva, who sings serenades under the window. The hopes of the two lovers are in the hands of the skilled Figaro. Through countless tricks, he manages to unite them, ensuring a happy ending to the story.
Dan Tudor, a successful director of the comic genre, combines in this show a musical masterpiece with a theatrical one in a modern vision, erasing the boundaries between the two genres through an unexpected reinterpretation. The characters are presented in an original vision, with a contagious humor. The somnambulism of the two lovers and the constant change of situations, which are more and more funny, controlled by Figaro, fully contribute to the creation of an atmosphere of comic enchantment.
