Simona Maria Baciu

Ballerina

 

Simona-Maria Baciu is a dancer, performer and dance teacher. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old, and until the age of 19 she practiced modern dance, hip-hop, folklore and ballet.

In 2017 she graduated from UNATC, Choreography Department where she discovered contemporary dance. Contact Improvisation, Gaga, Axis Syllabus have been dancing since 2016 and since then she has been more attracted to improvisation and performance.

In Bucharest she collaborated with the Association for Theater and Books “Petec” (petec.ro). She has taught Contact Improvisation and Improvisation in countries such as Portugal, Israel, Thailand, and in Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara.

She has collaborated with choreographers and dancers such as Valentina De Piante (IT), Benno Voorham (SE), Ivaylo Dimitrov (BG), Sasha Dodo (UK), Virginia Negru (RO), Carolyn Carlson (FR), Linda Kapetanea (GR), Arye Bursztyn (IL), Baris Mitch (TR), Marta Ladjanszki (HU), Anjelika Doniy (RU), Ohad Naharin (IL), Kira Kirsch (DE)

Performances include: “Alienation or the desire for intimacy” choreographer Benno Voorham, “After.Life” choreographer Sasha Dodo “Solipsis” choreographer Sasha Dodo.
