The soloist Ioana IORDĂNESCU, stage name Ayona, started her musical studies at the “George Enescu” Music High School, in Bucharest. She studied the violin (from 4 to 14 years old) and, in addition, the piano. Ayona was admitted to high school, to the classical singing department, a genre she continued to study at the National University of Music in Bucharest. She is currently completing her master’s studies at the Faculty of Music Performance – Canto-Jazz Specialization, within UNMB.
Ayona approaches a multitude of musical styles and genres, from jazz, rock, pop, to folklore and stylized music to modern rock, dubstep rhythms. In 2017, she participated in the Eurovision National Team with her own composition. A year later she was a semifinalist at the famous competition.
In 2019, Ayona was a soloist in the symphonic pop-rock concert conducted by Daniel Jinga, together with the artists Cristi Minculescu, the band Trooper, Paul Ciuci, Vlad Miriță and Florin Georgescu. In the same year, she was a soloist in the symphonic pop-rock concert with Alexandru Ilie as conductor and in the “In Memoriam Laura Stoica” concert, conducted by Daniel Jinga, with Nico and Sanda Ladoși.
In the summer of 2020, she performed on the stage of the CLASSICS FOR PLEASURE Festival with the Vibe Orchestra in an original concert, which included classical re-orchestrations of the most famous pop and rock songs in the history of music.
Ayona is present on the TMA stage in the shows “Povestea Florii-Soarelui”, in which she plays the beautiful Luna, in the musical “Însir’te Mărgărite”, adapted from Victor Eftimiu – she’s got the role of the nice character ‘Vestitor’, in the musical “Păcală şi Tândală”, adaptation after the famous Romanian folk stories – a Storyteller, but also in the ballets “La Piață”, adaptation after Mihail Jora and “Beauty and the Beast”, adaptation after Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve.
Among the distinctions obtained as a TMA artist, we mention: the “Symbol, Tradition and Inspiration” Award obtained after participating in the XVIth RYAN INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL – New Delhi, India, as well as Special Awards at the XV SOMMERFEST FESTIVAL Nurnberg, Germany and WORLD CUP OF FOLKLORE 2019 – Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
Trivia: Ayona created the “Ayona Band”, a group of professional musicians for whom the vibe and interaction with the audience, during the concerts, prevail.
