Ballerina

Monica Andreea CUHARTZ was a student at the “Floria Capsali” High School of Choreography and is a graduate of the “Gheorghe Cristea” Faculty of Sciences and Arts in Bucharest, with a bachelor’s degree in Directing – Choreography.

She started her career as an artist in 2010, as a dancer for the experienced Zirkus “Stey”, on a tour throughout Switzerland. A large-scale tour of the sophisticated “Hollywood Safari Park” in Germany followed.

After only two years, Monica became a ballet teacher, modern dancer, and zumba instructor at the Tanz & more Dance School in Austria.

In 2018, she collaborated, as a classical, modern and contemporary dance teacher, with “Ballet Theater Ireland” under the coordination of the famous choreographer Mary Gibșon.

On the TMA stage, Monica performs a multitude of roles in shows such as the ballets “La Piață”, adaptation after Mihail Jora and “Frumoasa şi Bestia”, adaptation after Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, musicals “Păcală şi Tândală”, adaptation after the famous romanian archaic stories and “Înșir’te Mărgărite”, adapted from Victor Eftimiu or “Povestea Florii-Soarelui”, a show based on authentic Romanian folk music.

Together with the TMA Ballet Ensemble, she has won numerous awards for participating in major international competitions and festivals. Among them 1st place – GOLDEN DIPLOMA at the GOLDEN DANCE online international competition, SPECIAL AWARD awarded by EURO-FOLK ACADEMY, coordinator of international festivals organized under the auspices EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF FOLKLORE FESTIVALS, UNESCO partner, LAUREATE I – GOLD DIPLOMA OF WORLD , Ryan Foundation Trophy at the 16th RYAN INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL – New Delhi, India.

Trivia: Monica is passionate about photography, as a method of relaxation and development of imagination, but also poetry, an eternal source of inspiration and beauty. She likes to travel and sees in this hobby a challenge that takes her out of her comfort zone, but develops her personality by knowing other cultures and customs.
